A note on USPTO filing fees
Every trademark application requires payment of USPTO government filing fees. These fees are paid directly to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office — not to Vallo Law — and are in addition to the flat attorney fee. Fees currently start at $350 per class. The total government fee depends on the number of classes filed. We discuss class strategy in your consultation so you know the total cost before we proceed.

What are USPTO filing fees?
USPTO filing fees are government fees paid directly to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. They are separate from and in addition to our attorney fee. Filing fees currently start at $350 per class of goods or services.
What if I need to file in multiple trademark classes?
USPTO filing fees apply per class. If your goods and services fall into multiple classes, you will pay a separate government filing fee for each class. We discuss class selection during your consultation so there are no surprises.
What happens if I receive an Office Action?
Routine correspondence with the USPTO is included. Substantive Office Action responses — where the USPTO has raised a legal or procedural issue requiring a written response — are separately scoped and priced based on the complexity of the refusal.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The $1,499 attorney fee is our complete fee for the services listed above. USPTO filing fees are a separate government charge, paid directly to the USPTO, and are clearly stated upfront.
